Public Health Surveillance and Programs Stream

The Public Health Surveillance and Programs Stream provides surveillance data for the remote component of the Greater Western Area Health Service.

The provision of information on Aboriginal health and welfare, and information relating to remote and isolated communities in the Greater West is a main activity of this stream. The stream also leads in the provision of training on epidemiological methods and contributes to the public health information and service needs of the Greater West.

The stream has significant outbreak investigation capacities – an integral function in a remote location.
