Clinical Skills Laboratory

Medical training equipment in the Clinical Skills Lab

The Clinical Skills Laboratory (Skills Lab) is located within the Elloura Lodge building on the Broken Hill Health Service grounds, near the BH UDRH building. The skills lab comprises three air-conditioned rooms dedicated to teaching, including a lecture room with a capacity for 15 people. A small kitchen ensures that participants attending sessions can remain in the area for breaks. The skills lab also houses training equipment such as anatomical and medical models, allowing students to practice invasive procedures. Students using the lab have the opportunity to practice a range of skills such as intubation, cannulation, suturing, catheterisation and plastering. A TV, VCR and digital projector are also available for teaching purposes.
